Through his personal training and health coaching business, Danny George is working to improve the health of our community.
George used to do personal training at his home fitness center in Fishers, Indiana, until he was sidelined when the COVID pandemic began and gyms were shut down. That turned into a hybrid-training business for George.
"I pivoted to an online model," he said.
He already had one remote-based client, and the gym owner had already given him experience with online training and the app he uses. His remote-based training allows George to customize a program that shows clients how to perform exercises and the order to do them for results.
George's wife is from Owensboro. The couple moved here and recently had a baby, but his hybrid programs work well with his schedule.
"I spend about 10-15 hours a week with 16 clients — a majority of them are remote — and a large portion of the time is spent checking in and designing programs in exercise and nutrition," he said.
He also responds to emails and leaves feedback for clients who have uploaded videos of their exercises.
George will also meet clients at their gyms or his home gym, Owensboro Fitness Center, if they want an in-person session or sessions.
"My vision is to have a brick-and-mortar gym — a private training facility — and also offer in-person training, along with remote clients," he said.
According to George, hybrid and online training are more economical for most clients, but it helps if people have previous knowledge of exercise.
"It gives me a larger reach of people I can serve and help," he said.
George holds certification in injury prevention and specific training, including nutrition and well-being coaching.
"My passion is helping men and women reduce injury and improve their quality of life through individual training," he said.
Through nutrition coaching, he helps clients lose weight and keep it off, building the plan with them.
