INVISTA Unveils Navy Blue CORDURA® TrueLock™ Fabric
Pennsylvania-based HLC Industries, a long-term supplier of CORDURA® Advanced Fabrics, will debut its exclusive new Navy Blue CORDURA® TrueLock™ Fabric at the SHOT Show Supplier Showcase in Las Vegas (January 16-17, 2023). This new offering emphasizes the company's commitment to producing innovative, durable, and sustainable solutions. The new Navy Blue CORDURA® TrueLock™ Fabric is designed for Military, Tactical, and Law Enforcement applications and is made from high-tenacity nylon 6,6 multi-filament fiber that locks in the color during the manufacturing process, resulting in deep and durable color throughout the entire fiber structure.
CORDURA® TrueLock™ Fabric features excellent color fastness, UV-fade and abrasion resistance, and long-lasting color vibrancy. Visitors to the show can find HLC Industries at booth #51700 and CORDURA® Advanced Fabrics at booth #52400.
The CORDURA® TrueLock™ Fabric is constructed with high-strength nylon 6,6 multi-filament fibers that secure the color during the manufacturing process, resulting in a deep and durable color throughout the entire fiber structure. This fabric offers exceptional color fastness, resistance to UV-fading and abrasion, improved UV strength stability and long-lasting color vibrancy. The consistency of color is essential when combining the fabric with other materials such as webbing and elastic to create consistent garments and gear.
Key features of the CORDURA® TrueLock™ Fabric include:
Furthermore, the method used to create CORDURA® TrueLock™ Fabric consumes fewer resources such as water and energy and releases fewer greenhouse gases compared to traditional acid piece dyeing methods.
According to Cindy McNaull, the brand's business development director, "Throughout our 55-year history, we have focused on developing long-lasting and durable fiber technologies, including our line of solution-dyed, high-performance nylon 6,6 products. As we continue to innovate, we are also committed to creating solutions that are sustainable. The release of our new Navy Blue CORDURA® TrueLock™ Fabric is a reflection of this commitment.
Tina Rogers, CORDURA® strategic military account manager, adds that "This launch is the result of a strong partnership between INVISTA and HLC Industries. We work together to listen to customer needs, identify problems, and develop cutting-edge solutions that serve a purpose.
Marnie Landau, Executive Vice President of HLC Industries, states: "Navy Blue is a popular color in law enforcement, military, tactical, and workwear applications. The new addition to the CORDURA® TrueLock™ Fabric portfolio provides shade consistency across apparel and gear components and is durable enough to withstand exposure to the elements and intense military or outdoor use. Partnering with the CORDURA® Advanced Fabrics team to develop this high-tenacity, solution-dyed nylon 6,6 navy blue offering was a natural choice."
Erik Walker, Global Military Segment Leader, explains that "the launch of CORDURA® Navy Blue TrueLock™ fiber is a significant achievement for INVISTA's Camden, S.C. facility, which has recently expanded with new equipment to increase the U.S. capacity of high-tenacity, nylon 6,6 specialty fibers for Military, Tactical, Law Enforcement, Workwear, and Outdoor end-uses. Together with HLC Industries, we are dedicated to meeting the evolving needs in critical protective applications such as ballistic vest covers, bags, packs, and outerwear."
In addition to Navy Blue, CORDURA® TrueLock™ Fabrics that comply with the Berry Amendment are also available in Desert Sand, Tan-499, Coyote-498, Ranger Green, Camo Green-483, Wolf Gray, and Black.
